Odyssey of the Sea

Mom loves gambling.

One day, she won a ticket to a cruise ship.
But I was the only one she brought, because nobody else could go.

After a four hour drive to Fort. Lauderdale, we arrive at the airport-looking building and pass through security. I didn’t really feel like coming because I was the only one there. All I would do was eat and swim alone. But you can never tell mom that you want to stay home.

We enter the main lobby, which was packed. Mom was kind of walking around confused, so I told her to take a picture of the map.
She didn’t.

Eventually, we went up the elevator and got to our room. The room was small, had a balcony, and a nice bathroom. We stayed there for a little bit.

Then we went downstairs to ask for wifi. I don’t know why, but wifi costs $160 per person. So we just bought for one device and switched wifi between devices.

After that, we went over to the solarium, which had a huge wall of glass showing the dock. There were many seats, and even a stage. Mom was really hungry so she got some food from the cafe right next to it.

She got Potato soup, and I got a sandwich. I forgot what kind of sandwich, but it was pretty good. There was also juice, so I got that too.

We went to deck 15, which was the top of the ship. There were pools and hot tubs with people already in them.  Mom was taking a bunch of pictures so I stuck around for about an hour.

Then we just stayed in the room until dinner.

We ate at the main dining room, which was a big place and had a big  hole in the ceiling so you could see the second floor. I ordered calamari and a ribeye. I also tried escargot because mom keeps ordering things just so I have to eat it.

We then went to our room, but mom went downstairs to gamble. I was on my phone all night because I couldn’t connect to wifi on my iPad.

The next day

Mom was looking for a place for breakfast and ended up wandering into a buffet. The place had windows on the side so you could see the ocean, which was nice, but the food wasn’t very good.

Most of it was eggs, sausages, and bacon that was stuck together. I ended up grabbing a clump of bacon and had to eat all of it.

We also arrived at an island called Coco-Cay. It was a small island full of trees, blue waters, and shops. We watched it from the 15th deck, and then decided to go down there.
One of the staff said that we couldn’t go to the island without my card. I guess my wristband was not what you were supposed to get. We went back up and got it.

We went past the dock, which took a while because mom wanted me to take a picture of her standing next the the bottom of the ship. But we we made it to the beach. It was really blue, like on youtube or tv.

We sat down in a chair and just waited. I waited for about 30 minutes, and then decided to go look around. I saw a guy on a kayak, and since I was bored, I asked mom if we could go kayaking. She said yes, and made me wait for her. For a while. I waited for 10 minutes. Then 20. Then I started burying myself. Twice. Then she started playing the same music on repeat for 20 minutes for facebook. I kept asking her but she kept saying 1 more minute, but she said that about 20 times in 20 minutes. There was also no wifi so I just had to sit there for 2 hours.

She finally got up, but when we were walking around, I couldn’t find a place for kayaking. So we gave up, and I just went into the water. Even though the air was hot, the water was cold. But since I had already gone in, I just had to sit there. After an hour of sitting in the water alone, I got out, and it felt even colder than the water. And I also had a bunch of sand in my sandals, which was like sandpaper every time I took a step. While I was waiting to dry off, mom made me get in line for icecream because it was about to close. She went and got food from the buffet, and started walking back to the ship. I still had sand in my sandals, so I took them off. Mom didn’t want me to for some reason.

At night, I got some pizza from downstairs and went to sleep. Mom stayed downstairs gambling.

The third day, we went to the buffet again for lunch. This time it wasn’t bad. I orange chicken, butter chicken, pasta and some lemonade. We ate by the window.
But after that, mom made me go watch a show in the solarium. It was about this guy, who opens a book because he wants an adventure. Its called the book. And then people started dancing. Mom was asleep the entire time, and only woke up to take pictures.

After that, I took a walk outside, and mom went to go do something. The front of the ship was really windy, with almost nobody there. Then I waited at the hibachi restaurant for mom. It really stinks outside the restaurant. I waited for 20 minutes for mom, having to hold my breath every time I got close to the restaurant.

The people in there were singing the abc’s, twinkle twinkle little stars, and other songs like that. It was really noisy. I got Takoyaki, which is fried octopus. I then chose the lobster and scallops, and we waited for the chef to come.

When he came, he made us fried rice and also threw chicken for us to catch. When I got my lobsters and scallops, I also got my octopus. It was all pretty good.

Then I got to my room, got a bit of pizza and lemonade, and went to sleep. And mom went gambling.

Today we arrived at a town I forgot the name of, but it was something like Georgetown. Mom didn’t choose any tours, so we just hopped on a bus, and onto another beach. The air was hot, and for some reason, the sand was really smooth. I just sat there again.

And she also made me take pictures again. And I have to keep taking a bunch of photos of the same thing because she says its not good enough. And she tells me what to do, and I do it. But she still tells me its not good enough. And we run out of time, so we go back home.

Then she makes me play bingo, cause she wants to gamble even more. Obviously, we didn’t win anything.

The Solarium bistro was a small restaurant open at night. They serve food on really tiny plates, so they force you to keep getting more plates if you want more food, which makes you get less food. They didn’t have many food options. All there was were fish, lamb, chicken, calamari, and some other stuff that mom would eat. The fish was okay, so was the lamb, but the calamari was the best thing they had. The calamari was a 7/10.

The next day, we ate at the buffet and looked over Jamaica. We looked from the top deck to get a better view. It was hilly and full of trees.

And of course, mom didn’t make a reservation for any tours. So we hopped on a random bus and went to a random beach. They gave us free wifi, but like every other time, I go in the water, wait for mom so we can leave, and get forced to take pictures for her. That was it. That is all I did in Jamaica.

The last day, mom woke me up and made me watch another show. She wouldn’t tell me what show (she probably didn’t even know), and said that I have to try everything (I sat on a beach for 2 hours on every island).

So we walked over to the theater, and watch something that looked like power rangers mixed with marvel. They were dancing, and singing, and stuff, and mom was sleeping. This time she didn’t take pictures. She stayed asleep.

We then went to Giovanni’s, an Italian restaurant. I got chicken Parmesan and calamari. They also gave us bread and marinara sauce, which was good. So was the chicken and the calamari.

Then we did a skydiving kind of thing where you go into a tall tube and theres a bunch of wind that makes you float like you are falling.

And we at at Giovanni’s again because it was good. I wanted pizza because last time, mom said the pizza here was good. But she didn’t want me to get pizza. And when I was getting it anyway, she made me choose egg pizza, which tasted bad.

Then we went to sleep. This time she didn’t gamble because we had to wake up early to go home.

And the next day, we went home.

Meadow lawn middle schol

Its where all of the bad kids go. Everyone at my old school avoided it. Everybody knew that they shouldn’t go there. I told mom about it but she didn’t listen until it was too late.
The school I wanted to go to (the one with everyone from my old  school) was 20 minutes away, and mom didn’t want to drive all the way over there everyday (even though she wasn’t the one driving me to and from school).
The hallways of the school are crazy when there is anyone in it. Even if its a small group of kids, the find a way to cause chaos in the halls. Its not full of cigarette butts like Nam told me, but its still bad. When you get the chance to walk in the hallways alone, it’s kind of peaceful. Theres not much to look at, and the school looks like someone trying to make a prison on Minecraft.

There’s this one teacher who has a whistle that makes as much noise as a fire alarm. At lunch, she blasted it right next to my ear when the cafeteria got noisy. Everyone at lunch is always noisy, so the principal tries to keep them quiet by saying stuff like:

“RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU CAN HEAR MY VOICE!”
and                                                                                                                              “DO YOU GUYS WANT SILENT LUNCH?”

Its on of the things that stop me from sleeping at lunch. There other thing is how cold it is. There has only been 1 time that I fell asleep at lunch, and thats when I had a hoodie, long pants, and there was no noise. So thats why I quit trying to fall asleep, and starting coding and playing games. They let us play games all the time. I saw these 2 guys playing Five Nights at Freddy’s 1 and they were so bad they could only make it to the 3rd night. They quit after that, and now that we have assigned seats, I don’t see him anymore.

My first period, being math, is usually the most fun. Unless the teacher makes you play a math game that is all luck and no skill. We had to pick an envelope that has a random amount of points in it. It was the other team’s turn first, and they got 150,000 points. On the first turn. Well, if they get that many points maybe we get a lot of points too, I thought. But NO. Every single turn we got, we lost points. First it was -100, and we were already in the negatives. Then -5,000, and -150,000, and then -400,000. Even though we got every question right unlike them, we lost by about 600,000 points.
Once we were playing an escape room where you had to answer questions to get a piece of a code to escape. I won first, and then I saw this one guy name Monoreach, who’s usually kind of smart, asking for help. I saw tears in his eyes. I went over to the computer to help him, but he didn’t even follow me. Instead, he sat down in a corner, weeping. I asked him if he wanted me to help him, but he didn’t answer. So I just stood around awkwardly waiting for him to do something. Then I got tired of waiting and started to do my homework, and then FINALLY he asked me to help, again, and we both went to the computer. I helped him through the problems and he seemed to be doing well, but I noticed he was using a calculator for the simplest problems. He couldn’t find 5 x 5 in his head, so he used his calculator. That was kind of odd.
Ms. Kimbrough is probably everybody’s favorite teacher. There is even this one girl who comes to her every 1st period to say hi. Kim had to get her out by spraying Lysol on her.

Second period, which is my U.S history class is the smallest class that is still loud. The teacher has the last name Nguyen, and everybody keeps asking me if she is my mom. I tell them                   no, she is not my mom.
But the keep asking,                                                                                                 is Ms. Nguyen your mom..?
Even if I’ve already told them twice, maybe even 3 times, they still ask. There are people who I’ve talked to, told them the answer to their question multiple times, known them for the whole school year, but they still ask, like they are making a new discovery.

Wait, if your last name is Nguyen,

and her last name is Nguyen, then…

And then I just have to cut them off because I already know their next words. Im very used to it by now. I can cut them off the second they say                                                                                                                                mom, Ms. Nguyen, or History teacher.

Mr. Fox makes us play boring songs in band. I know this is our first year, but I do not want to play jingle bells everyday, and then play everyone jingle bells at the concert for everyone to hear. But maybe its just because I play the easiest instrument in band, the xylophone. This xylophone isn’t even in good shape, some keys are broken and held together with rubber bands and tape. Most of the mallets have lost all of the yarn. At least I get to see whats under the yarn. Being a percussionist makes you basically not even exist. Me and the other guy, Gabe, have raised our hands a bunch of times, but only once have we been called on. And that was at the beginning of the school year. He doesn’t even tell us what group we are in. He says,

Flutes and clarinets, you are group 1…

Saxophones and trumpets, group 2,

and tubas and euphoniums, group 3.

He never mentions us at all, and this is a bit of a problem when he asks us to play in groups. But we do get to play on the piano and drums, unlike the others. I taught my friend Gabe how to play the treble clef for gymnopedie so that we could play together, but he isn’t very good at it. He always plays too early or too late, and it’s hard for him to remember the 3 notes at the end of the first few lines. I think thats just me being a bad teacher though. Gabe lost his music sheet for the concert, and now he only knows 2 out of the 3 songs. Usually, everyone brings their own music sheet, but he just reads off of mine. The problem is, he’s not supposed to play the same part as me in the 3rd song. He told me that he didn’t tell the teacher, and that he wasn’t going to the concert. I don’t know why he didn’t tell the teacher, because not going to the concert will take you from an A to a C.

Last year, gifted was fun, and there was cool projects. But middle school gifted sucks. The class is full of crazy people, and the teacher makes us present something twice a week. Even in the other periods, they are crazy. I ran back in because I forgot jacket and everyone in the class was yelling and stuff but the teacher did nothing about it. There are a lot of things that I don’t like to do in that class. We do get to read a cool book though. On Friday, we get to do game day, like in elementary school. I used to play chess against my friends at my old school, and usually we ran out of time (but I would’ve won if we had time). Me and Dean, who is from my History class and also asked me multiple times if my mom was Ms. Nguyen, played chess. At first, things were going normal. I was winning. That was until I moved my queen forward.

You cant do that

What? i say.

The queen can only move diagonally, but can move 7 times.

I question him about it, and he said that at his old school, those were the rules. I let it slide because I was winning. Later in the game, he said that he didn’t know how the knight moves. I taught him. Then, he did the thing with the queen where he moves 7 times and kills my queen. Then this guy waiting for the game to end so he could go against me was like

Dude, you can’t do that!

And Dean tells him about the rule and the guy goes

Oh my-

I cut him off and say just let him do it.

And then we run out of time.

My computer class can be the most fun and the most boring class. Its boring when you have to do the work while using the sweaty headphones. Its fun when you are done and get to do whatever you want. I usually make a game or go on typing.com. Theres this girl who is always next to me when we assign seats who is very annoying when I am making a game.

What game are you making?

What does that say?

Obviously I’m making Five Nights at Freddy’s. Every Tuesday, Mr. Bethel comes in and shows us videos about the mind. And then when he asks us to read questions, usually only 1 of us raises our hands.

I walk into the science class everyday prepared for the most random and long rant about something I don’t even know. Once he said something like

Paper balls are better at being an airplane than a paper airplane

and then he starts to argue with the class for the rest of the period. Once someone came back from the bathroom and he said

I bet you can’t stick out your tongue and touch your nose!

And when he fails, the teacher sticks his tongue out and puts his finger on his nose. This is proof that this class is %80 talking, and %20 working.

This school is a bit crazy, and I might go crazy being there everyday. The weekends are like breaks from the chaos of the school. I wish I had an extra day of the weekend.

Wedding and food reviews

I went to Christina’s and Liem’s wedding and it was kind of fun.

The drive was about 7 hours and my lips were so dry I had to keep licking them  every ten seconds but that just made them dryer so I tried to stop licking them but I could only make it about 20 seconds until I was forced to start licking them again. I also could barely sleep because I was at the back, and the middle of it. I couldn’t lean on anything to sleep so I had to sleep straight up. Another thing was that E Vien, who was on my right, kept leaning on me (this was every time she fell asleep) even though she had a window on her that she could lean on. Another another thing was that E Vien was always talking and always wanted me to shadow box with her. Shadow boxing is a game where you move your hand in a direction and your opponent has to look in a different direction. If they move their head in the direction your hand went then they lose. If they don’t, it would be their turn to move their hand. You have to do all of this pretty fast if you don’t want to make the game last a long time. Anyways, Nam, who was on my left, had some nerd clusters. They were pretty good, but we rarely got to eat them.

Our first stop was a gas station. I asked dad for vaseline because my lips were so dry. After I did that, we went to the building that was next to the gas station and got more nerd clusters. They even had a restaurant, but I bet the food there was bad. But people were actually eating there for some reason. We continued onto the road for a while and got to McDonalds. E Vien and I were fake fighting and I accidentally scratched her. So the rest of the time we were at McDonalds E Vien was trying to hit me but I kept walking behind the table, and there was no way she was able to get past the table because she is too slow. So we get on the car and we finally reach a road that was surrounded by a forest. On our right was a cabin that looked like it was haunted. We got our stuff and we tried opening the door on the side but we couldn’t. And then we tried the front door but that was locked. And then we tried the side door again but this time the keypad showed up and we entered the door. There was a hallway with bedrooms on the sides and I didn’t like the look of it, but when we went right there was a living room with a tall ceiling. There was a kitchen, a dining table, a couch that could be turned into a bed, and a tv. There was also stairs with wine glasses dangling under it so maybe the owners of the house put the glasses there so that if we break it then they could make us give them more money.

We start eating the chicken nuggets and I try honey mustard for the first time. It tastes like sushi with wasabi. I combine it with the ranch and it tastes pretty good. 6/10. Dad then starts talking about the bond fire in the backyard, and that we would be starting the fire, and whoever starts the fire first gets 10 dollars. So we started walking to a store but it was too far and it was starting to get dark. We walked back but when we went the the backyard to see the bond fire, dad had already started the fire so he scammed me. We sit at the fire and do nothing for a while. Dad then tells Nam and I to find towels in the house. There was nothing but a box of ketchup packets, so we went back. We then had to start finding fire wood, and it was getting dark by then so we had to use a flashlight. There was also a shed looking thing next to the house, and when we unlocked it, there was a pretty nice room which had a poker table, tv, bed, and a foosball table. E Vien and I played foosball and she was pretty bad at the game. Then Nam joined E Vien’s team but E Vien just ended up dragging Nam down so I won. We also got the ketchup packets to play poker but we didn’t want to anymore. We started the foosball game again but this time Khoi was on Nam’s team and E Vien was on my team, which is unfair.

While we played, we had to get firewood a couple times and it was getting hard to find firewood because most of the big ones were already found, it was getting dark, and we weren’t able to break any large logs in half. Anyways, E Vien sucked and we lost. So we switched up the teams and now Khoi was on my team. It was fair, but we still lost. And then Nam found out about digital poker chips, so we played poker with that. Nam said that to win we would have to get 1500 chips (everyone started with 1000). Before the game, Nam told me to first get his charger. So I did that and went back. And then he told me to put water in the fridge right as I walked back through the door. So I did that. And then I had to get my charger because my iPad was dead but it was kind of my fault, but it wasn’t fully my fault because my iPad loses battery even if its off. What made all of the trips annoying was that the first trip, I thought I heard footsteps. The second, I thought I heard a “hehehe”, which made me freeze up, and then I had to sprint out the door like I was in a horror movie. Turns out that was the neighbors partying. I hate neighbors. And for all of the trips, I had to open the door which had moths and one bug with wings and really long legs on it. After I got back, we started the game. While we played, I found out from Khoi that Thucdan, Thucquyen, Thuclam, grandma, their dad, and Khoi’s dad was coming in 2 hours. 2 hours later, E Vien left with Khang to scare the people that were coming, so Khoi and I went too. We hid behind a tree which was a bad hiding spot, and we had to look down so they don’t recognize our faces. After a minute or 2, we saw light from a car. They pulled in, shining the light on our heads, and they got out of the car, I don’t know how they didn’t see us. We went ahead with the plan and ran out at them like zombies, which I thought wasn’t very scary. E Vien wouldn’t be scared by that. I think we should’ve snuck up behind them and grab them while yelling. Anyways, they didn’t get scared at all, and I went back to the room. Thuclam E Vien was in last place, and at the end where Nam and I were still betting, I ended up going all in and lost. Thats how the game ended. So after that we didn’t do much but listen to Nam’s music.

I watched youtube and dad then told me to go brush my teeth. I went into the house and saw Thucquyen. I didn’t say hi to her though because I saw her playing roblox or something. I went back again, and after a few minutes, I had to go to bed, so I went to the house again. But that wasn’t the place I had to sleep at, dad said, so he lead me to the same shed where we played poker, and I went to sleep. In the middle of the night, I started day dreaming about something that I can’t remember, but it felt so real until my dad started snoring and I realized that I was imagining it the entire time.

The next day, I was awoken by dad, and after he left, I just slept for 2 minutes because I was very tired. But I should’ve woke up earlier because when I went to the main house, everyone was already packing up so I didn’t have enough time to shower. So I had to pack up, and get in the car. The car was super hot, and it made me itch. We got on the road and it was about 1 or 2 hours to Liem’s dad’s house. It felt like forever though because E Vien kept leaning on me when she slept. My lips were also dry again. We got to the house and for some reason Thuquyen’s mom was there. I played a bit of piano and showered. It smelled a little bit weird though. I played more piano and on my iPad for a bit and then I had to put on my clothes for the wedding that was today. The pants were too long, but they weren’t the ones that came with the rest of the outfit. I don’t know where it went. After everyone got their clothes, we got on the road again. It was another long drive, but when we finally got there, I was so tired. We went in to the building and we were forced into a different room because they weren’t ready. And we left that room and went outside. We waited for angel and when she finally came, we went in.

We sat down even though it was starting to rain, and the ceremony started. I don’t have much to say about it.

After the ceremony we went outside the room we were forced into and waited to take a picture. I went back and got coke. After we took some pictures, I got more coke, and we started to eat. I got steak, bread, and some potatos. The steak was very tough, but it still tasted like normal steak. 7/10. The potato’s taste very weird, and I have no idea how to describe the taste. 3/10. The bread just tasted like bread. 5/10. I got more coke but from a different bar because I thought getting 3 cokes from the same guy was going to make me look like I drink too much coke at home. Next I got the pasta and meatballs. The pasta was pretty good, but I didn’t really like how it tasted like herbs. 7.5/10. The meatballs just tasted like normal meatballs, and it was still nice. 8/10. After we ate, we went to the dining room where people danced and I got an appetizer. It was cheese and greens. It was bad, 2.5/10. The next appetizer was something like flatbread with sauce on top, served with more greens. The flatbread was nice, but the sauce on top tasted kinda weird, not as weird as the potatos earlier. 6/10. So we waited soooo long to get our main dinner, and we danced a bit because it was taking so long. It came. I ordered the beef because I don’t really like chicken unless its grilled or something like that. The beef was much more tender than the steak from before. It had some sweet sauce, and it was a 8.5/10. Some people came around and gave us desserts. One was pretzels and cookie dough. It was  5/10 because I don’t like pretzels. The other was lava cake. 7/10 but I would like milk chocolate more than dark.

After all of that we just got a jar of chocolate and went home.

Odd Dreams

My dreams are very weird. Hardly any of my dreams are realistic, and most of my dreams get me into danger. It’s weird how every one of my dreams make me die the exact time I wake up. Here are some of the dreams:

1. I had this dream when I was about 5.
I was a little baby in my diapers (not joking) on a small table in the corner of a garage. The garage door was closed, and the table I was lying down on was dusty and made out of wood. Across my corner of the room was a wood door, with small steps heading up to it. There was a white sedan in the way, and you would have to go around it to get to the door. The floor was smooth but dirty. Then, my dad and Khoi’s dad walked in. They walked up to me, speaking Vietnamese (i don’t remember/ i didn’t know what they said). But a few seconds after, they ran out the room in a hurry, and disappeared into the hallway. Soon after, a black office chair (the same one from my dad’s house) rolled into the room, wearing the same clown mask (only my dad, Khang, and Nam would remember this) my dad scared me with when I was about 5 and when it was also Halloween. The chair rolled very quickly, so I rolled off the table, and rolled back under the table. The chair was too tall to get under, so I was safe. The chair kept ramming into the table, but it was getting nowhere. That’s when I woke up.

2. I had this dream when I was about 5.
I woke up with my dad in the old bed we used to sleep in (not the new bed). In front of the bed was a mom and a little girl, both with black hair. It was dark so it was hard to see them. For some reason, we followed them and downstairs was a mansion lobby with a set of two stairs and checkered marble floor. To the sides were wood doors. My dad was talking to the the adult and for some reason I knew that if I was mean, I would get killed by the little girl. Both of us went into the door on the right and it was extremely dark. I tried to be friends (i don’t remember what i said) but after a few seconds the girl made a very high pitched scream (e vien level scream) and I was instantly killed. That’s when I woke up.

3. I had this dream sometime after my 11th birthday.
I was sitting at the dining room at my house in Florida (nothing was different about this house but one thing. you’ll see later). The news was turned on and mom sat at the kitchen. I looked outside my glass backdoor and saw a tsunami that was about 10 times as tall as my house sitting where the canal was supposed to be. It wasn’t even moving. Just sitting there. I told mom that we had to get out of the house, worried that it was gonna start moving. So she got out of the house and waited for me in the car. I had my backpack on but I still needed one thing (i don’t remember what it is). I knew it was in the closet, so I went there and the closet was about as long as a hallway. I crawled past all the clothes spread out the closet and got the thing from the end of the hallway. I got out, rushed out the door, then got into the car where Khang and mom were waiting for me. We drove to a giant Walmart (idk why) which was about 1/10 of a mile in front of our house (very short drive). In their we were grocery shopping (weird). That’s when I woke up.

4. I had this dream on 1/3/2023.
My dad and Thuclam were eating on a bench at my school. It was very hot and sunny, and suddenly I needed to use the bathroom. I went inside and looked for a bathroom, but I only saw one bathroom for women, not men. Right after that, I for some reason looked into my backpack I carried and there was a pistol. And then the lights went out. My dad and for some reason Hunter (7 yr old cousin from my mom’s side) walked in. Then there were (for some reason) a pile of pistols on the floor. I pointed to it but then they saw that I was holding one. I didn’t know how it got in my hand and tried explaining to them that I got framed. That’s when I woke up.

5. I had this before my 11th birthday.
I was a detective looking for a man in a black hoodie with a backpack. He was a criminal for murder, and he was in the same place as me. I was at a carnival lined with games and food stands. The sky was a dark blue, and it was getting late. My partner was Khang, and the 2 other members of my team were on the other side of the carnival, looking for him. I spotted the man, and chased him into a shack near the festival. The other members also came. They went in first. A minute after, I peaked inside and saw them dead on the ground. There were stairs leading down into a basement. I walked inside alone (khang didn’t come). A man slowly walked up the stairs, with long claws. I quickly took out my knife and stabbed him. That’s when I woke up.

That’s all for this blog. There might be a part 2 to this one. (yes, i remember what happened when i made parts to other blogs.)

School stink

Mom always wakes me up very late for school. I try to tell her to wake me up earlier but its like she cant hear me. My class has 2 teachers: Carroll (Reading, Writing) and Lewis (Math and science). My class starts the day with Carrol, and then switching to Lewis midday. The other class starts with Lewis, and switches to Carroll.

Since mom always wakes me up late, I’m tired when I walk into class. On Mondays and Tuesdays, we have to get 20 minutes of Istation which is extremely boring. When we finish that early, we have to read or go on typing.com. Everyone is so slow at typing. I am a bit slow too but its about 3x faster than them. They also type with 2 fingers. Then at 7:45 (the time you have to get to school), we go to music, art, or PE depending on the day. I think art is the most fun. They keep making us play in the mud with balls, so we have to pick the muddy balls up with our hands, and so they also get muddy. We then go back to class. Carroll then makes us read City of Ember, which is about a city that is “the only light in a dark word.”. Its an okay book. We are going to watch the movie on 12/22, but today I saw the cover of the movie and the characters looked nothing like the characters in the book. Carroll keeps making us write so much on the paper which makes my hands hurt. Im too lazy to get my headphones when getting on brain-pop or Istation, so I just put on subtitles. There are no subtitles for Istation, but you don’t even need them.

We pack up before going to lunch, which is the most exciting part of the day because I can sleep. When Im putting my head down to sleep, people keep asking me if Im okay and I have to keep telling them Im fine. It wouldn’t be a problem if it were different people everytime, but its the same people over and over and over again. They know that I’m trying to sleep. Then comes recess. Recess got kind of boring because the people playing kickball were fuming over random stuff so I just stopped playing. I usually just sit on the bench because my friends are either playing kickball or in another class. Sometimes I play pass with this random person, and their friend is very annoying. She keeps trying to take the ball.

When we get back to class, we grab our stuff and switch to the other classroom (which is next to ours). I like Lewis better than Carroll cause she is more fun and we get to do experiments. I have to sit behind this guy named Eric, who likes to annoy people and mess with them. He isn’t even supposed to be in our class. He is in Lewis’s class. Apparently he was causing such a ruckus in the other class that he had to be moved into our class. He likes to mess with me the most because I am behind him. Right when we walk in, we have to solve 4 questions. They call it Math 4 Today. Then, we do something called What Year Am I? We have to write the correct year using the clues they give us. They give us a small cone if we get it right. People love to flex their cones. Then we do some lessons and then we move onto science. We went to the science lab for the first time. Its actually just a portable. We are seeing how insulators affect how long it keeps water warm. Lewis said that there are groups of fours, and everyone in the group will get the same grade, so choose wisely. I don’t think I was wise enough though. I chose a group with all my friends, and 2 of them are smarter than the others. However, all of my team mess around too much. We recorded 2 out of 5 trials, and we were going to do the last 3 tomorrow. But the guy who weren’t as smart as my other friends had do it by himself because the rest of us had to go to gifted. He was also the guy who loved to mess around the most. Our grades rely on him. We still don’t know what grade we got for that.

On Thursdays, we go to gifted. 4 of us go, but last year I was the only one who went. I came mid-year when I first went. We start the day off by getting our laptops and going to Armstrongs class. I think Armstrong is the best teacher Ive been with. There is an open ended question on the board that we have to answer. We then get on the carpet and form a circle. There is also another question she asks and we have to answer it in a circle. We actually get recess first, and she also gives us snacks before we go. After we get back from recess, we do some math. The math isn’t easy but it isn’t hard. Its fun sometimes. About an hour after recess, we go to lunch. Lunch is pretty much no different, except that nobody asks if I’m ok. After lunch, we listen to a book called “I Love You Micheal Collins”. Then we do some researching for a topic that we pick. I probably shouldn’t have picked communication because its hard to find info about it. At the end, we go back to our class and then leave to the car line.

The end of the day is my second most favorite part, but I have to sit in the hot sun waiting for my car. Grandpa picks me up after 15-25 minutes. I cant go home right away because we have to pick Khang up, which is about a 25 minute drive from my school, to his school, and back home.

This was boring

C anada

We jut arrived to Ohio from the airport and was going to the supermarket to buy some stuff before we get back. When we did get back, Khoi, Vien, and their dad was there. We played around in the basement for a couple days. E Vien was so scared, she peed and made a loud fart every time I chased her.

The drive to C anada was pretty long and it took 3 hours just to get to New York buffalo. There was a giant long white van we rented, which had 12 seats (including the driver seat). We stayed in a AirBNB at New York, and I didn’t really like it because it was old and the basement was uncomfortable. We ate pizza that night for dinner. That night, I stayed up for about an hour or 2 because I had almost no space to sleep and there was a loud noise coming from the boiler room. The next morning we grabbed our stuff and headed to C anada.

Someone (i forgot who) handed me this paper about a castle we were going to, but when we were going there, it was all for nothing because the gate was closed. And of course we had to drive RIGHT up to it to look and see if it was closed. The road was also very cramped for our giant van, so we almost fell into the water.

The entire drive I didn’t sleep because it was also impossible to sleep in the van. We got to the border and it looked different from the one I went to last time I went to C anada. We got past the border and went to a place with a bunch of asian food for some reason. Khang, Thuclam, and I forgot who else went to a different restaurant while the rest of us stayed in a different one. Nam and I ordered udon but I don’t know what the others ordered besides pizza. The udon was ok, but the pizza was better.

All of us went outside and got to the van. It took a while but we got to the next AirBNB. At first, I thought we were going onto the subway next to it. The building that we were actually going to towered over us. I got my stuff and went into the door, which needed a code for you to open. There was a very, very long creaky staircase, and I was afraid that I would fall over while trying to help Khang with his luggage. When we got to the top, I didn’t expect it to be so big. There was a big living room with a tv, with doors that led right to the dining room and bedroom. The dining room had a long table, set with plates and utensils. There was also a weird spider-like bug on the ceiling. In the corner, there was some alcohol that my dad was very busy inspecting. Khoi, Angel, Vien and I played some “ghost”, but they were screaming very loudly and I had to keep telling them to quiet down.

We quickly put all our stuff into the van and drove over to a Vietnamese restaurant. I ate some nice egg rolls. I also shared with Khang and Grandma. We walked over to our van to pick Thucquyen, Thucdan, and their mom up. We needed another car to fit people in. We then went to the library for no reason. It was huge though. They make everything huge in C anada. Some of us stayed back while we went back to somewhere because I forgot where we went. Lets pretend we all went home. Wait no.

After that, we went to the area where I ate the pizza and udon. We went to a Chinese place, where they gave us hot water for some reason. Dad said people don’t want to drink cold water after being in the cold. For me it made no sense because I warmed up after about a minute of being in there. So I ate Wonton soup with duck, while having no water the entire time because I HATE warm water.

Khang has told me to sleep in his room, and so I did. Not. I forgot to say that there was also and upstairs, but it doesn’t matter because you’ve already been there. Anyways, Khang’s room was upstairs, and dad’s room was downstairs. Just when I was about to fall asleep, I heard dad calling my name loudly from downstairs. So I slowly walked downstairs like I was drunk and went into dad’s room, not before stepping on the very creaky floorboard. And so I didn’t fall asleep. The same thing happened. Dad wasn’t in the room, so when I was on the brink of sleeping, khang walked right up to my face and told me to sleep in his room. I again walked up the stairs but annoyed this time. I went into his room and almost fell asleep again. Almost. Dad called my name AGAIN so I went downstairs AGAIN. I was glad that Nam slept in the living room so I could sleep without having to stay up 2 hours. Thucquyen’s dad was snoring a bit too loudly so he came into our room. I almost had to sleep sitting, while also coughing a lot. I didn’t think that this part would have the longest paragraph in this blog.

We woke up early in the morning and I brushed my teeth. And showered. The night before, Khoi’s dad told us that we would be making pizza this day. We packed up and headed down the long stairs. Through the glass door, it was raining outside. We quickly put our stuff into the van and drove away. It was a very long and very bumpy ride. And then we finally made it to the AirBNB.

It was a 4 story house. The kitchen was connected to the dining room. Above the wall next to the dining room, there was a crack that lets you see the floor above. The stairs right in front of the door led to the next floor. It had a couch, some chairs, and a piano next to the crack, which looked like a balcony. Im not gonna talk about the other floors.

We immediately went to a pizza restaurant, were we don’t get to make pizzas, and I didn’t even get the pizza I like. The french fries were ok though.

We then went home and slept. For the first time since we left Ohio, I could actually sleep. It was just dad and I who slept in the room.

We got up the next morning and drove to a friends house. I don’t even know who they are. We had to stay for about 30 minutes. Anyways, we said goodbye to Thucquyen’s family and made the trip back to Ohio. We stopped by a store and got snacks. I didn’t get anything. We then visited Niagara Falls for 10 minutes and then we drove to another store, where I got sour patch kids. I somehow fell asleep on the van, and when we woke up, it was night. In 30 minutes, we finally got back home. I played some TF2 on the computer, and went to sleep. The next morning, we headed to the airport. Khoi, Vien, and they’re dad would be coming too.

After saying goodbye to Nam and dad, we got through security and ate Auntie Anne’s. I drank a lot of lemonade and played smash with Khoi and E Vien. I also ate cinnamon rolls.

I said goodbye to them and bought Cheetos. We waited for about 2 hours and then got onto the plane. The entire flight, there was always a kid or baby crying, whining, or talking. I stayed awake the entire time.

We got home.

Arizona trip

I thought Thucquyen’s house was bigger and had 2 story’s and also had an epic living room but NO. Her living room was a couch and tv with colored lights, and her house was 1 story. Her room had a side of the bed that was very very narrow. It was next to a sliding door. And while flying there, I saw a huge desert with no buildings, only huge mountains. The entire city is surrounded by it. It felt like a tsunami closing in on us. Oh and her school looks like a hotel. We went to McDonalds to get the BTS meal, I liked the honey sauce but the mustard one taste like nothing. We also went to in and out and I got some fries with spread sauce which is burger sauce. I liked it, but last time I ate fries, there was salt everywhere and I had to get the vacuum cleaner. Thucquyen and Threw donut plushies to each other  and I threw it over the wall. We had to go to the side of the house to get it. It was dark so it took a second to find. Khoi had a drone my dad bought. It was dirty but it worked perfectly. I crashed it and broke the camera and propellers. While I was trying to find my password and username in my dads text to make this blog, I saw Nam holding that drone. It looked new. Anyways ThucDan had a car. And that was the car I had salt everywhere in. Oh and While I was waiting to get picked up from the airport in Arizona, Thucquyen’s mom had to go 4 laps cause the got lost.

Spring break????

I don’t know what i am gonna do on spring break, I don’t just want five days in a row of being on my iPad, I feel like I wanna go somewhere. Like to Ohio or Arizona, but good thing is that I’m going to Arizona in like a week or two. But I am also wondering, how long am I gonna be there and what am I gonna do there, what does Thucquyen’s new house is gonna look like, is it cool? Or just weird. I have only seen Thucquyen’s bedroom, well after I go to Arizona, i’m going to go to Ohio, I don’t really know what I would say for my Ohio trip, so I guess that is the end of this blog.

Oh and remember about those hotel blogs and like timeline blog I made? Yeah I kinda lied i’m not continuing those unless someone forces me to or pays me.

Kayaking

So i woke up at hunters house and hunters dad said that we had to go kayaking. I was sleepy and it was kinda cold. About a minute later, i got up but didnt really do anything. I got my ipad cause i was going to come back and sleepover again. Hunters mom, hunter and i went outside and waited for my mom to come too. Hunters dad went somewhere but we didnt know where. Hunters mom thought he went to clean his car. Hunters dad finally came back. I put my ipad in my moms car and told her to give me it later. We got in hunters dads car and then drove. We planned to go to this kayaking place but we were to late. We picked another one but it was hours away. We still went there. When we got there we went to the rent 2 kayaks. I was on the one with mom and nam on it. Hunter was on the one with his mom and dad on it. Nam said there was alligators were downsteam but we were going upstream. At first it was all muddy. But it became better.

To be continued

florida food

So Florida’s food is not that different to ohio food but i like them both the same. One thing i like is the sushi. Today i ate a sandwich and cereal but i am gonna eat more. I usually eat rice and meat but i went to hunters house for like 2 or 3 days so i ate some ribs and chicken too. I eat some snacks and i drink a bit of soda. I have a lot of bug bites on my back so it itches more. I dont really eat that much.
