Canada Trip

The first day, we arrived late in the night into Cleveland, Ohio. Nothing much happened, but we went to sleep. The next day, Bien arrived. We played “Ghost” in the basement with the two radios we had. The next day, Angel arrived and we played some ROBLOX. Fast forward a few days, we were departing for Buffalo, NY. We rode in a white van that had seats. When we arrived in Buffalo, the AirBNB was decently sized, I say that because without the large basement below us with the bedroom, the house would’ve been small. The next day, we hopped back into the van and drove to Toronto and stayed there for two nights. The place was spacious, perfect for a game of “Ghost”. We also went downtown to go eat, and we explored a library. The last day in Toronto, we drove to Montreal. We stayed in a large house, however the basement was occupied by an unknown guest. The place also had an electric piano/keyboard. The next day, we drove to Niagara Falls and then back to Ohio for the last day. I played some ROBLOX with Bien and then we all went to the airport to fly home. I hope you enjoyed this blog and I will see you next time, bye guys!

This weekend my family is going here for Thanksgiving. We will eat a lot of turkey. My family is big. My cousin is called Khoi. He likes airplanes. He is annoying. My other cousin is called Y Vien. She cries too much. Y Vien is still crying.

Tomorrow I need to talk about the book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I hate it.

When it snows, I will go snowboarding with my friends. My cousins snowboard sometimes, but they are not good at snowboarding. I’m not strong in French. I hate the French because they love cheese.

I am bored.

Building Safety – Exit Signs & Emergency Lights

Exit Signs. Exit Signs are not complicated devices. The main purpose of an exit sign is to display a safe exit route for building occupants. An exit sign is designed to be illuminated 24/7 while AC power is being supplied to the unit. At the same time, the AC power is used to charge the battery. In a power failure, an exit sign has a battery that is designed to keep the sign illuminated for a minimum of 90 minutes. Exit Signs can also have emergency light bulbs attached, these are called “combo” units.

An exit sign in “Emergency Mode”.

Emergency Lights. Emergency Lights are also not complicated devices. The main purpose of an emergency light is to illuminate an area such as a hallway or classroom during a power failure. The stark difference is that emergency lights are off 24/7 when AC power is being supplied to the unit. Like an exit sign, the AC power that is supplied to the emergency light is also used to charge the battery. In a power failure, the emergency light will then turn on.

In the past, exit signs and emergency lights would be made of metal and would use incandescent bulbs. Nowadays, exit signs and emergency lights have plastic housing and LED bulbs. First, lets go over the pro’s over exit signs and emergency lights.

In a power failure, an exit sign and emergency light can help guide your way to the exit. Examples of exit signs and emergency lights used in emergency scenarios is a fire. When a building, such as a school catches fire, there will be smoke, right? In heavy and thick smoke, you won’t be able to see the exit or let alone the corridor. Exit signs and emergency lights are there to help you find your way. Without exit signs/emergency lights, you could be led in the wrong direction and your chances of getting out could be slim. That is why exit signs/emergency lights are required in commercial buildings.

Emergency Lights are used in power failures. Let’s say a school gets hit by a power failure, emergency lights are there to allow you to see whats in front of you. In this case, lets say the school cannot release the students early. Emergency Lights can still allow the teachers to give instructional learning to students without doing it in complete darkness. Exit Signs will also stay illuminated to guide the way to an exit.

Now, there are many complications in exit signs/emergency lights. Performance is KEY! Lets say you got a generic exit sign/emergency light off of Amazon. I don’t recommend this. Most generic exit signs/emergency lights are horrible. They barely work, and they can fail easily in emergencies. Generic emergency lights may also not light up an area sufficiently. The worst emergency lights are the ones that use incandescent lights. Most of the incandescent lights are dim, and most of the incandescent emergency lights don’t even have reflectors, making them extra-dim. There are also lead-acid battery emergency lights. The problem with these emergency lights is that they are heavily-dependent on the type of battery you put in. If you put in a bad quality battery, the unit might not work in an emergency, defeating the purpose of an emergency light. Lead-acid batteries may also make an emergency lighting unit unreliable. This could mean that the bulbs will be dimmer than intended, the emergency light may die under 90 minutes, or the unit might also just not work.

Finally, lets go onto exit sign color inconsistency. Exit Signs come in the colors red and green. Here is the problem, every state requires a different color. Indiana would require red, but Utah would require green. Red catches your attention, however red means STOP right there. Red means danger, red means not safe and don’t go through this way. Red is also used in many advertisements, so red in a mall wouldn’t be good at all. Green on the other hand means GO. Green means this way is safe, green means go through this way. Green is also a soothing color and catches your attention way better. You shouldn’t put green and red exit signs in the same area either, since maybe a child who is learning colors may be confused.

Well, thanks for reading my blog! This may have been my longest blog by far. I’ll see you next time.

vien iq level = none

So I talked with TQ abt Marvel and she said TL and her think Captain Marvel is the strongest Avenger, like really?? If you search it up, Wanda IS the powerful Avenger!!! I wrote another blog abt it, too! But like Captain Marvel???????? And all she can do is fly around as a shooting star and break things. That is SO not true.

Our Family in a Nutshell

Today, I am going to be rating everybody in our family and why I rated them that way.

The main reason why I am writing this blog is because I do not know what to write about. My dad is f o r c i n g me again and I think its time we bring back the blog boycotting session. #ForcedToWriteDuringBoycott

1. Vien -5/10

Vien is mainly annoying because she always thinks shes cool and thinks she owns the house. She always bounces her ball making it hard to concentrate, and gets mad easily. She always forces things to go her way and I honestly think that is super annoying. She even uses ThucQuyen and forces her to agree with Vien so then Vien thinks she is the best.

2. Angel 9/10

Angel is very nice and is great company. I think shes funny and she doesn’t complain much. Everybody in our family likes Angel.

3. ThucQuyen 4/10

ThucQuyen is funny but is also ANNOYING. She always screams when she is on voice chat and always seems to destroy her friendships with online people in DiScOrD.

4. Thuclam 7/10

Thuclam is average and is mainly funny and interacts with the family a lot. Gets ticked off easily.

5. Nam x/10

Solve for x

(* means multiply)

[[(562)^67 * 372^32]^1] * 0 = ?

pssst… the answer is zero 😉

DISCLAIMER: THAT RATING IS JUST SATIRE

6. Khang ?/10

Honestly, I don’t really interact with Khang too much so I basically do not know his rating.

7. Bean 100/10

Bean is a good person and is tasty because you put black beans in food many times.

8. Bien 9/10

Bien is a trustworthy person who is friendly. My favorite times are when me, my sister (yes vien how ironic), bien, and even Angle would play ghost in the basement or in the Ohio Forest.

THATS IT THANKS FOR WATCHING THIS VIDEO AND ILL SEE YOU NEVER BYE HAVE THE WORST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

7th Grade Middle School Shenanigans

  1. Framed Kahoot! Victim & The Power Outage Incident
Basically yesterday at Period 5 (Civics & Career Planning Class) there was a power outage that lasted for a few minutes, interrupting our Kahoot! review game. Then a classmate (also has the nickname as the Floridian Jit) botted the Kahoot. Another classmate then got in trouble for it since he had a lot of Kahoot tabs open but didnt actually bot it, I think he ended up getting a referral. Then in 6th Period (Science), the power outage happened AGAIN and then we had to sit there in almost pitch black darkness since the only light coming through was the window (didnt matter at all since it was cloudy and dark outside), and the two ceiling lights powered by the schools generator. The generator also apparently tried to power the hallway lights fully, but failed so the 2 classroom lights & the hallway lights had trouble staying on. After a few seconds the hallway lights partially shut off again leaving only some on while the 2 classroom lights were on dimly. When the lights were flickering, my friend then blurted out “Ooooo guys its a ghost” and everyone started talking which caused the science teacher to shush everyone since they were too loud. Later the front office staff made an announcement over the partially working intercom system (overhead speakers in the hallways did not work, only classroom phones did) to notify everyone of the power outage and to state that after-school activities would be cancelled. We started chatting about what was going to happen next and it was about 20 minutes in the darkness. Finally, the front office staff was going to announce over the intercom system that we were going to dismiss the students, but they had to do it over the radio (45% of the school probably did not get the message) because the schools generator failed to power the intercom system which only managed to stay on for five minutes. We later left the classroom to proceed to early dismissal, but after some students getting dismissed, there were NO MORE CARS. So we just sat there for like 30 minutes until more cars came to pick students up.
  2. The Silly Reflection Incident

The next day, everything was going great until 6th Period (Science). Basically my friend (the one who said there was a ghost) was talking loudly and screamed a bit so then the teacher gave him a reflection paper. When he left, he gave me the reflection paper and when I read it, it said “What is your plan to no talk in science: pUt mY hEaD dOwN aNd ClOsE mY eYes“, so I showed it to my friend who started laughing then I gave it to the teacher since she probably needed it back. Then she wrote the word “Detention” and then basically my friend was going “OOOOOOOOO”, so yeah probably not the best day for the detention kid lol.
    3. The No Shower Kid Incident
Also, there is this kid which had a odor coming from him, so I asked him if he showered and then he said the last time he showered was THREE WEEKS. Now I’m no health expert, but don’t you think thats a bit dirty? And then my friend asked the kid with the odor, and then he said he didn’t use soap before that. So yeah everyones doing 12 ft social distancing from him now.

Summer is Coming to an End

It’s August now, and summer is now ending. School starts in FOUR days, and I am hoping some of my old friends are going to be with me and have the same schedule. (they most likely will) However, apparently, I am going to have to miss two days for a New York trip and we depart on August 9th, Tuesday. The school literally starts on August 10th, Wednesday! There are two main things that I disagree with this, first of all, I am going to miss two days of my first day of school. Second of all, I am going to miss 2 days’ worth of work, and in middle school, that’s a lot. Not to mention high school when they pile assignments into one day. However, I am still going to go on the trip as I haven’t been to NY that much, and the last time I ben there was like 4-5 years ago. 7th grade is going to have a lot of work, but other people say that it will be a fun time, so I hope it is. Anyway, see you every other day now.

The Bad Side of Peru Trip

Hygiene

Yes, Hygiene is super important. In Peru, it was very dirty. There was dog poop everywhere and you couldn’t stand it at all. I wouldn’t even shower since most showers only had cold water and some were even dirty. Luckily, some places were clean so that was a plus. The fact that I went three days without showering is disgusting since during that time most of the hotels/motels/apartments we had been to were dirty.

Internet

There was no connectivity, and cell service would be slow. Most WiFi networks in fact were slow too and wouldn’t even work, your device wouldn’t even connect. In some places, there wouldn’t even be internet so you would be stranded with no connection. To make matters worse, my dad’s phone couldn’t connect to mobile data, so he could only use WiFi.

Elevation

In Cusco, the elevation was super high. I was sick there and took high-altitude pills. Luckily, when we arrived back in Peru, I felt way better.

Peru Trip

So last week we went to Peru and it was great. We first drove to Miami International to catch a plane. We flew on VIVA airlines to Columbia, and then from there we flew to Lima Peru. At Lima, we stayed at this apartment complex, and they had cold water, but we made it work. The next day we flew to Cusco and we got to see Macchu Picchu. Before we went to Macchu Picchu, we stayed at a shady place which had no A/C. I threw up due to the elevation and I woke up at 2 AM. All I had left was ramen so I cooked up some and ate while watching videos on my phone. The next day we had to take a 2 hour bus ride and 1 hour train ride to get to Macchu Picchu. I took a lot of videos there and it was very cool and antique. I never thought I would go to the places inside my World History Textbook. The next day, we went back to Cusco and we stayed at another hotel called “Kila Sumak or Kila House”. It was decent. The day after, we flew back to Lima Peru and stayed at a good hotel. Finally, we flew to Columbia for a 13 hour layover and then flew back to Miami. This was one of the best trips, thanks for reading!
