Getting the Windows Phone

A week ago, I purchased a phone for around $40 dollars. I was pretty excited about it since this would be my second time using Windows Phone. For those who don’t know, Windows Phone or WP is basically your computer but as a smartphone, and running the same software on a small screen. When I got it, I unboxed it and plugged it in, but it wouldn’t turn on. I contacted the seller and he told me to send it back for a refund. After that, I bought another WP and it was working, but 50% of it would not function. I am trying to return it now but it has been slow and communication between me and the seller is also slow. When I was setting up the phone, I noticed there were a lot of scuffs, scratches, and even a slim crack. When it prompted me if I wanted to set up a Microsoft account, I logged into mine but then it said it couldn’t connect to the server. Also, some functionality on the apps requires WiFi, but for some reason, when I am connected to the internet, it says no internet which is very strange. Now, I am considering whether I should even buy another WP, but on my mind, for now, the best WP that I found and is in my budget is the Microsoft Lumia 640.

Scariest Moment at home alone with Y Vien

This blog was written approximately 30 minutes after the incident. 2/7/22

My dad had gone to go get KFC, so then when he left, I went to play Roblox, but then the “mailman” knocked on my door. I was a bit confused, since it was 6 PM and USPS, FedEx, and UPS mail services would not usually operate at this time. What was also even more confusing was that I did not hear a mail truck come to my house, and mail trucks are pretty loud. I decided to mind my own business, then 5 minutes later, I went up to the window next to the door, looked out, and there was nothing. I closed the window and then walked over to the kitchen phone, and dialed my dads number. I explained to him that I heard somebody knocking at the door, and then I went to watch Y Vien play Roblox. Suddenly, I heard multiple voices of people talking to each other in a foreign language that I couldn’t understand, and they were laughing. My blood froze. I then heard them fiddling with the Garage door controls, trying to close it, and I thought they were trying to break in since they knew kids were home alone. They might’ve even tried to open the door, or they were leaning on it since I didn’t see the door handle move, but they were pressing hard on the door. I immediately told my sister to mute the speakers on the laptop and called my dad. I told him frantically that some adults/teenagers were in the garage and were trying to close the garage door. He told me that he would be coming back. I also realized that the security system was unplugged which meant I couldn’t review the playback footage. There wasn’t time for me to plug it back in, so I told my sister that we need to go upstairs, into my room, and lock the door. Once my sister and I was in my room, my desk phone started ringing, it was my dad. I picked it up and my dad said if everything was alright, so I responded yes and I handed the phone to him. After he arrived home, we were able to leave our room and come downstairs. We ate fried rice and it was a pretty good dinner, we also discussed the incident a little further. I have a feeling that those gangsters might come back, so I will keep my security system plugged in and my eyes peeled when my parents are away. Thanks for reading guys.
